WSCA Awards

Each year, the Working-Class Studies Association (WCSA) issues a number of awards to recognize the best new work in the field of Working-Class Studies. Read about the most recent award winners here, 2022 Awardees.

The awards are named for individuals whose work has been trailblazing in bringing working-class cultures, lives, and experience to the fore. To date, there are seven awards: The Studs Terkel, CLR James, John Russo & Sherry Linkon, Jake Ryan & Charles Sackrey, Constance Coiner, and Tillie Olsen. Additionally, the WCSA also recognizes individuals through a Life-Time Achievement award. Read a little more about these awards and view the record of Awardees here.

The review process is organized by the past-president of the WCSA, and submissions are judged by a panel of three readers for each of the categories.

You can view the award categories, find out how to make a nomination, and find judges information on the Call for Awards tab. Please help us get the word out to recognize new work in our growing field!
